Student Activities |
There are many ways for students to become involved with Mathematics and Computer Science outside the classroom at Longwood University! This includes Student Clubs as well many other activities. Below we list Student Clubs that are active in the department. Please see the Department Activities page for a complete list of on-going department activities, most of which are student oriented! Description |
ACM Club | The Association for Computing Machinery Student Club. The ACM sponsors and participates in several activities throughout the academic year including the ACM programming contest and the well-received "bash the computer" booth at Octoberfest. Faculty Advisor: Dr. John Graham |
Math Club | The Math Club sponsors several activities throughout the year including "Game Night." Faculty Advisor: Dr. Phillip Poplin |
Pi Mu Epsilon | The Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematics honor society is through invitation only based on academic performance. Pi Mu Epsilon sponsors the famous "Problem of the Month" as well as offering tutoring session to Longwood Students before final exams. Faculty Advisor: Dr. David Shoenthal |
